Phil Robertson

Phil Robertson

Patriarch of the family, Phil, is a living legend in Louisiana and is better known by his alias; the Duck Commander. He may not look like it, but he played first-string quarterback ahead of football star Terry Bradshaw at Louisiana Tech University in the ’60s. They were both drafted into the NFL but Phil turned it down because it interfered with duck season. Instead he stayed in Louisiana, married his high school sweetheart, Miss Kay, built a house down by the river and together they raised four sons. His love for the outdoors lead him to create the Duck Commander® Duck Call in 1973, which has gone on to become the most trusted duck whistle ever conceived. Duck hunting is so important to Phil that he follows a strict routine of no showering, no shaving, and no clothes washing of any kind during the ten-week season to ensure a bountiful haul

  1. We think he is awesome!! I think he has a right to his beliefs, and to express them. He has nothing to apologize for, and we want him back on the show. If I was him I would sue the hell out of the network

    Keep being you :)

  2. Phil,
Ostensibly, this is still a free country, so how are your freedoms being protected by our U.S. Constitution? You have a right to your religious beliefs and your free speech. I saw nothing "hateful" about your comment. But rather, you expressed how you feel and think. You are just as entitled to express that opinion as any other media star is entitled to express theirs. The difference? Yours is an unpopular, conservative, Christian view point. Yet another example of Christians being silenced.
Why is there no vocal culture out there supporting your rights and beliefs? Who will protect your rights? Well, Phil...I bet there are many more people that feel as I do. God Bless you, Phil. You did nothing wrong. Agreed...keep on being you!
